Challenge:

• Given the nature of schizophrenia, it is often difficult to identify patients and for patients to consistently come to visits or contact a study, including for screening and enrollment.

Goal:

• Increase identification and screening of suitable schizophrenia patients for study with stringent I/E criteria

Solution:

• Partnered with local advocacy, community groups and community health clinics
• Developed educational events and led and organized the programs for members and patients
• Collaborated with local sites to facilitate screening events:
•  Lunch and learns offered to 47 community organizations
•  29 events scheduled / 23 events completed prior to enrollment completion
• Attendees: MDs, residents, healthcare support staff, board and care home staff
•  Highlighted study in monthly newsletters
•  Supported local sites with patient scheduling through Elligo’s Enrollment Center

Results:

• 60 qualified patients identified for screening
• Enrollment was able to close earlier than projected, due to Elligo involvement impact
